Released in 2016, the TransAcoustic guitar by Yamaha is an innovative acoustic guitar that combines authentic acoustic sound with advanced digital features. Its key feature? It adds effects to your playing without needing an external amplifier or cables—just the guitar itself. The process works by converting the vibrations of the strings into electrical signals, which are then processed for effects and sent to actuators inside the guitar. These actuators produce vibrations that travel through the guitar’s body, creating effects directly from the instrument. With the second-generation TAG3 C model, Yamaha has further refined the original TransAcoustic concept. Its cutaway dreadnought design is perfect for powerful strumming and features a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. Now with two upgraded actuators, the guitar produces even richer effects and includes a built-in looper function. In addition to the original Reverb and Chorus effects, a Delay effect has been added, for a total of three effects. The looper feature lets musicians record and replay their phrases, allowing for layering and creative experimentation. With the TAG Remote app, players can fine-tune these effects, and Bluetooth audio capability lets them stream music directly through the guitar’s body. The TAG3 C is truly an all-in-one instrument for listening, playing, and creating, offering a complete musical experience.
